Feeling so proud of what he had done, finally killing a fellow clansman. "Venomstar will be so proud when I come to join him. Maybe even treat me as a true warrior. If this doesn't please him then me killing Thunderstar will." Turning around and running back to camp he smelt a vole. "That will be a perfect excuse." Slowly sneaking up on the vole he jumped, Snatching it just before it got away. Swiftpaw walked into the camp entrance with a casual look. Dropping the vole on the fresh kill pile before going to lay down for the night. That night Swiftpaw dreamed of being in a dark misty field. A very dull and dreary place. He could hear voices complementing his acts yet he could also hear some shunning him for what he had done.

Rainpaw saw the commotion from the border, and ran across to investigate. "What's going on?" He yelped as he drew closer. Once he arrived, he began licking Blazepaw all over to try to warm him. He looked at Swiftclaw. "What's her name? What happened?"

Blazepaw coughed up water from the river and heard a cat talking but she didn't understand any of it cause her mind was still dazed from the near drowning. Her lungs burned from the frigid water and she gasped to regain her breath. Finally she looked to see who was beside her and was relieved to not see Swiftpaw anywhere near her. "Who are you?" She asked quietly to the apprentice that was licking her fur.

"My name is Rainpaw." Mewed Rainpaw quietly, enunciating clearly and awkwardly. "I am the Shadowclan medicine cat apprentice. What is your name?" He returned to licking Blazepaw's fur while waiting for a response. Mentally he thumbed through the herbs he knew already and couldn't think of anything for this. "Are you all right?" He asked.

Another relief, Atleast a medicine cat found me, I wonder if he saw what happened... "Blazepaw from Thunderclan" she stated though it she thought it may have been obvious to Rainpaw that Blazepaw was from Thunderclan. Blazepaw was aging feeling back from being in the cold water and closed her eyes in pain. There were a few cuts on her left side from where she had hit a rock,"I think my leg is broken. How am I going to get back to camp?" she said now afraid to go back to camp and see Swiftpaw but she needed to get back to camp eventually.

Rainpaw's gaze quickly flickered toward Blazepaw's leg, which indeed jutted at an odd angle. Comfrey... and some rushes from the river... Perhaps I can bind her leg before taking her to her camp... He thought to himself. Those scratches seem to be okay for now, but I might get a cobweb to make sure... "Urm." He hesitated uncertainly, brain whirling as he tried to decide what he should do first. This was his first patient, after all. "I am going to grab some rushes from around the river. Give those scratches a good lick while I do that, and keep an eye out for cobwebs. If I can find some, I'll put them on the scratches, but if not your medicine cat very likely has some." With that, he walked towards the river quickly and began gnawing on the bottom of one of the rushes growing next to it.

Blazepaw watched as Rainpaw left her side and went off to the river to get some medicine that Blazepaw hadn't heard of in Thunderclan but she also wasn't a medicine cat apprentice. She was going to be a warrior... Well hopefully she still would be one. She listened to Rainpaws instructions and slowly leaned up to lick the cuts. With the adrenaline leaving her body she started to fell her wounds and broken leg with every lick.

Twistedfoot followed along the edge of the ThunderClan - ShadowClan border, looking for borage, but while being careful to stay at least 3 feet from the border markers. The black and white tom sniffed carefully through a newly found clump of herbs he had found, but none of the herbs growing within it was distinguished as borage by their scent. There was mint and parsley, though, and the ThunderClan tom carefully nipped these leaves off from their stems. After several minutes, the homely tom had his jaws fully clamped with the leaves of these herbs. A stiff breeze blew by, still cold from the dregs of winter, and in its' wings held the fresh scent of a fellow Clanmate, Blazepaw, and a new one he had never smelled before, but tasted suspiciously of reptiles and marshes. What if Blazepaw was battling against this ShadowClan cat? Dropping the jawful of leaves without thinking, Twistedfoot raced towards the direction of the wind. The forest was a blur around him as he caught closer and closer to the position of the two cats. In the clearing, right over ShadowClan's border, was a silver ShadowClan tom and Blazepaw. Blazepaw seemed injured, licking her leg while having intensely worried features etched over her face. "What has happened?" the black and white tom growled softly, resting his foggy blue gaze on the ShadowClan apprentice who was along the edge of a quiet creek. Then the tom relaxed when a sharp scent of herbs rolled off from this apprentice's tabby pelt. He must be a medicine cat too. "Sorry," said Twistedfoot hastily, "I thought maybe... an ambush..." The ThunderClan medicine cat stretched out his neck to examine Blazepaw. The fur on her neck seemed disturbed, as though somebody had grabbed hold of it. It couldn't have been a fox or a badger - otherwise Blazepaw would have died. His voice was full on concern as he repeated, "What happened to you?"

Blazepaw stiffed as she heard a cat coming from the bushes near Thunderclan and started to breathe again when she saw that it was just Twistedfoot, finally someone she knew for sure that she could trust. Blazepaw closed her eyes for a moment, all the energy gone from her body from fighting the current of the river, as soon as Twistedfoot turned his attention to Rainpaw. Then she was asked again what happened. What should I say?If I tell Twistedfoot then Swiftpaw would surely kill me. She closed her eyes again not wanting to look at Twistedfoot while she lied straight to her face to cover for a "I was playing by the river and fell in and must have hit some rocks and stuff and almost drowned. Rainpaw must have dragged me out." Blazepaw didn't know if it had been Swiftpaw or Rainpaw that pulled her from the river but if it wasn't Rainlaw maybe Twistedfoot would say it was a Starclan cat that had helped her. Any of th three were really a possibility but Blazepaw doubted that Starclan would try and save a Thinderclan apprentice from drowning.

Rainpaw turned sharply when he heard Twistedfoot's growl, as he had been focused on chewing the reeds off. He relaxed slightly when the Thunderclan cat bent over Blazepaw. Suddenly, the reed made a quiet snap as it broke from the rest of the plant. Rainpaw carefully picked it up in his teeth, dragging it towards the ThunderClan cats.
"You're a medicine cat, right?" He inquired of Twistedfoot, setting the reed down. "I've... never set a bone before, and I don't have a proper mentor... ShadowClan doesn't have a regular medicine cat, just me..." He trailed off uncertainly. "B-but I know that you're supposed to use reeds, right? And comfrey, but I don't know where things grow around here and I didn't see any."

Twistedfoot nodded at Blazepaw's answer, but didn't believe her fully due to her reaction and lengthy pause. "And who helped you out of the river?" the black and white tom asked calmly, hoping to coax the truth out of the apprentice with wild eyes. The ThunderClan medicine cat continued to carefully examine the apprentice's body, but saw no more than several deep scratches and a broken leg. The reed carried in the ShadowClan apprentice's mouth proved that the silver tom was a medicine cat (or at least an apprentice). The tom with foggy blue eyes stated with the same calmness as before, "Yes - reeds and comfrey. Also, some sawgrass to securely tie the reed to her leg. They are found along riverbanks and ditches, and I will give you permission to scour ThunderClan land for them. Sawgrass is found on dryer land. I will stay here with Blazepaw to ensure she does not fall into shock."

Starstorm heard the two cats talking but missed the introductions as she stood at the outskirts of the clearing. "Hello," she purred,"I am the WindClan medicine cat Starstorm. i presume you are twistedfoot and I have some sawgrass right here, I was hoping to trade it for some poppy seeds or catmint. Now do you need any help binding his leg...who are you?" she asked Rainpaw. Starstorm watched the silver tom with curious eyes. " I wonder if my kit would have looked like that?" she wondered, " She was so pretty, and she died from greencough... I'm not fit to be a medicine cat, i can't even save my OWN kit from greencough." She bit her tongue and was on the edge of tears, her eyes starting to water.

"I don't know" She meowed, her voice a little raspy from inhaling water " I blacked out in the river and woke up with Rainpaw next to me." If Rainpaw knows anything about Swiftpaw I'm going to have to tell him to be uiet about it she thought. Blazepaw was getting nervous about them putting stuff around her leg, it hurt already and she knew that them touching it was going to make it a lot worse. well what a coincidence, a windclan cat just happens to how up with what they need She said sarcastically in her head dredding the reeds on her leg. She was very confused and now sad about the Windclan cat's story. Atleast now she could blame her tears, if she cried, on that instead of pain.

((starstorm, i'm not familiar with your bio, but... was your cat a medicine cat when she had a kit? because that's not allowed... unless the admins said it was, in which case whatever, but it *is* against the warrior code)) Rainpaw nodded briefly at Twistedfoot, about to start off to find the sawgrass when he encountered the WindClan cat who apparently just happened to be trespassing on ThunderClan territory with the herb he needed. "I'm... Rainpaw." He mumbled at the WindClanner, before turning towards Twistedfoot again. "This happen often, then?" He asked, referring to the coincidence. Rainpaw wondered why Blazepaw was lying about Swiftpaw, he knew she had been awake at least part of the time... He shot her a confused glance, deciding that it might be important somehow.

(It put in Starstorm's past when i did my bio. Also she was thinking it to herself when i wrote about the kit.) Starstorm was aware that the apprentice was lying but decided not to pressure her. She had been searching for herbs when she heard the commotion, and ran back to the medicine cat den when she heard the herbs they needed using her speed to her advantage. "Rainpaw, what a beautiful name," she mewed,"Keep the herbs, I have plenty of sawgrass." She grinned and sped away," Put the catmint or poppy seeds on the WindClan border by Sunhigh tomorrow." she yowled back to them before she dissapeared.
