Songbird was crestfallen for a moment, as she anticipated the kit's first fully-formed words. But quickly she forced herself back into playfulness and laughed, "Vavava!" tugging at the leaf that laid under Rainkit. "Vavava-virginia creeper!"

Songbird leaped lightly forward, finding that her right paw fell directly under the leaf, which cracked and crunched accidentally under the she-cat's pressure. "Whoops," mewed Songbird earnestly, lowering her head to the leaf skeleton on the dusty ground. "I'm sorry, Rainkit! Let's go find a new leaf. I'll show you the types of different plants too."

Rainkit looked at the leaf in dismay. It was gone! No more leaf! He tilted his head back and let out a long, mournful yowl, stomping his feet angrily.
((sorry, i feel like a jerk roleplaying that, but if i'm roleplaying him as autistic that's EXACTLY what he would do... if not worse...))

Songbird frowned, this was the only reason why she was happy that Branchkit didn't last past infancy. "Now, cheer up, Rainkit." She cooed softly, expecting this tantrum to last a few bare seconds. "Let's go find another leaf! A better one."

Rainkit twisted away from Songbird, shaking his head violently from side to side. Screeching loudly, he ran at full speed for the nearest rock, hitting his head on it repeatedly.
"VAAAA!" He cried. "VAVAVAVAAA!"

"Rainkit!" Songbird growled, "Rainkit! Stop that! No tantrums are allowed! A good Clan cat never throws a tantrum!" She attempted to push away the kit with a pale paw.

Rainkit shrieked, pushing back on Songbird's paw. Realizing that was futile, he jumped over it and streaked to a small area between the meeting-rock and one of the dens. He curled up tightly there, whimpering to himself.

"Poor toddler." yawned Eveningfall unconvincingly. This entire tantrum prove the reason why he never bothered to seek out a mate. In fact, love was foolish and those who searched and found it - were even more foolish. The reddish tom picked himself up and left the nursery.
"I'm sure his behaviour will fade once he gets older." Songbird promised to Dawnstep before picking up a new leaf as a hopeful substitute, "It always does."
With the new yellow leaf, Songbird walked out of the nursery's entrance and reached the spot where Rainkit laid whimpering. "Look!" the she-cat said in her sweet voice, "I got a medicine leaf to fix up our broken friend!" she dropped the leaf beside Rainkit, hoping he would believe her. "Good as new!"
(Medicine leaf! :3)

Rainkit examined the leaf.
"That's not the same leaf." He mumbled carefully. "Why are you lying?"
(and yes i get the medicine leaf reference XDD)
(also, there are a LOT of cases where an autistic person just kinda started talking in full sentences all the sudden, so this isn't me being inconsistent...)

Songbird was speechless for a moment; wondering, What in StarClan's name is happening? He could barely say 'Virginia creeper' a moment ago...
"Maybe the medicine leaf got his patients mixed up." replied Songbird quickly.

Rainkit glared at the leaf. "How can there be a medicine leaf? Leaves don't have paws!"
(i know i'm completely being inaccurate with the instant calming down thing... i just realized it but i can't do anything now... sorry XP)
