Rainkit awoke slowly, blinking his eyes in the feeble rays of the morning sunlight. What a difference from the dreams he had had! Full of cats, and yowling, and... Rainkit shuddered, not wanting to think about it. Poking his head out of the nursery for a moment, Rainkit mewled to anyone who might give him a bit of mouse for breakfast.

(How did you make this post an announcement? Eep!)
Songbird slept in the nursery, although her last kit, named Branchkit, had died of whitecough. If only there was a medicine cat in ShadowClan, to help heal others emotionally and physically. The soft mewling of Rainkit wokened her. The she-cat gave her thick pelt a rough shake, before padding a few pawsteps over to give Rainkit an instinctive sniff. He wasn't hurt, so he must have been hungry. "Just a moment," the queen mewed faintly, disappearing through the bracken. Pale morning light leaked through the opening the pale she-cat created. She returned shortly with a rabbit in her jaws, and dropped it in front of the crying kit.

(i have no idea... did i? ) Rainkit spun in a circle happily before biting into the rabbit. It was bigger than he was, but he ate as much as he could before looking up at Songbird. (he's going to be mute a bit longer than most kits would be)

(Alright, he's your character afterall. :] ) Watching the kit down his breakfast, Songbird seated herself directly in front of Rainkit. She wondered how Branchkit would have been like if he hadn't died of whitecough. "You should try talking sometime," Songbird joked lightly, unknowing of the kit's neural disorder. The pale queen had thought the silver kit as very shy. She started to eat what was left of the rabbit, although still watching the quiet kit's behaviour.
(Can he squeak and play? And yeah, you somehow made the thread an announcement xD)

Rainkit grinned at the older cat, still not speaking. He ran playfully in a circle, then swatted a ball of moss at her happily.

Songbird gave a faint smile back, although her heavily lidded, emerald eyes gave her the look of indifference. She batted the playtoy back, and crouched back down with her rear high up, with an air of playfulness. The ball of moss bounced on the ground once before reaching Rainkit.

Rainkit swatted the moss and missed, sending it sailing far to Songbird's left. Making an upset squeak, he tumbled after it.

Songbird trotted quickly after Rainkit's toy, piercing through it with a sharp claw. With a swift motion, it sailed through the air and tumbled onto Rainkit's silver pelt.

Shadowstar sat at the entrance to leader's den, watching the two cats play. It was cute the way kits would tumble around the camp staring at everything with innocent eyes and playing with various items such as mossballs. It reminded the siamese cat of when she was young and innocent, when she was oblivious of the great and dangerous world around her, but that didn't matter anymore, she had a clan to care for. "Mind if I watch?" she asked, "I'm a bit bored."

Rainkit squeaked when the moss hit him, then sniffed it closely. Looking around, he decided that he needed a leaf. Fortunately, leaves were not particularly scarce during leaf-fall. Noting that the perfect leaf was on top of a rock, he scrambled to get it.

"Certainly, Shadowstar." Songbird replied respectfully the the siamese, although she kept her bisque gaze on Rainkit. The silver tomkit seemed to stop for a moment before scrambling towards a crisp, scarlet leaf. Light drizzle started to patter outside the nursery. "Virginia creeper," her musical voice stated, knocking down the leaf off the rock with a gentle blow. It seemed odd that she knew the name of the tree of which the leaf had fallen from.
Eveningfall with nothing else to do, poked his head through the nursery. He watched the kit for a moment. They were a bore - with their tiring mewing and their wet coughing and sticky tongues that seemed to like licking everything in sight. But there was nothing else to do. The largish red tom seated himself beside Shadowstar, although making sure their pelts did not touch. "Nothing more to do then watch the little scrap play."

"Va-in-ya cee-pa." Echoed Rainkit, pouncing on the leaf.

(o srry i forgots goldy lieks rp ) "Virginia creeper," Songbird repeated, eager to hear Rainkit speak properly pronounced words. The queen snagged the leaf away from the kit with her tail teasingly. (I can never know what to roleplay with kits. xD)

"Va!" Giggled Rainkit, pouncing after the leaf. He grabbed it with his paws, then sat on it proudly. "Vavava!" He repeated.
