Character's name:
Ottermask
Reason for a non-traditional name:
N/A
Clan:
Riverlcan
Occupation:
Warrior
Appearance:
The she-cat was rather slender, muscles rippling beneath her dark chocolate pelt as long limbs carried her with an air of grace, while her paws seemed rather small in comparison to her long body. Large round ears were always pricked towards any sounds, while dark chocolate colored nose blended in well with the rest of her pelt. The long chocolate hued tail seemed longer than most, able to curl around her paws and nearly touch the base of her tail on the other side of her. Her eyes were a bright yellow hue, like the color of a waxed moon.
While she appeared thin and almost breakable the she-cat had well toned muscles beneath her pelt, although unlike some of her clanmates that preferred to hunt in both land and water she preferred to stay beside her constant love, water. Her muscles were more adapt to that, rather than the hard earth that required muscle action she was not as ready for. This did not hinder her fighting, the she-cat had trained diligently, she prided herself on being swift-footed in a battle, however rarely she used it.
Personality:
She was a rather cautious creature. She never enjoyed getting into trouble, always trying to be the voice of reason. When she did get in trouble, it was simply to follow the other apprentices, wanting to be as popular as they were. Ottermask had longed to be the apprentice others would flock to to share tongues with and eat prey beside, instead of being the follower. Yet she never was, at first known as a spoiled brat she had instead of remaining that, she became the introverted and shy apprentice with few friends and even fewer she was closer to. It was difficult for the she-cat to gain true friends, her shy and quiet nature seemed to deter others from taking the real time to get to know her, or so she thought. Perhaps it was her own stand-offish ness that kept her from getting to know others and in turn they get to know her.
She was also a rather jealous she-cat, particularly over cats, mostly she-cats with coats of many colors. She found her own rather dull and boring, never a topic of conversation, never something that drew the attention of others. She envied the she-cats with pelts of multiple colors, the tortoiseshells, speckled ones, and brindles. Every color but her own dull was more interesting, or so she thought even those other than the solid brown were fascinating, the oranges, whites, and blacks.
It took a lot to anger the warrior, not wanting confrontation, but once she was angered the she-cat would fight tooth and claw without thinking twice, which could easily get her into trouble. The warrior was rather shy around toms, feeling it necessary for her to be a flirt of sorts in order to get attention and one day a mate. At times she was rather tongue tied around toms, and others she was more of a flirt than necessary, unable to find that balance.
Past:
Born into Riverclan as a single kit, she grew being the only kit in the nursery for sometime, spoiled by her mother and many. She had thought herself quite special, and adored the attention, until the other litter came along and the attention shifted from her to the smaller kits. Seeing this, had hurt her deeply, she felt alone and unwanted until her apprentice ceremony, when she was given her apprentice name Otterpaw and her mentor. Even as she watched cats from the second she took a nest in the apprentice den she noticed she-cats and toms in love. So Otterpaw vowed to fall in love, to find that tom she would have a connection with and have kits with she could adore as she once was. Otterpaw always trained hard, wanting her warrior name and the extra responsibilities that came with being a warrior. The apprentice wanted to meet with other clans more, go to gatherings more to meet other cats. Her warrior name finally came, in the form of Ottermask. She relished the opportunities to prove more to her clan, to find that tom her mother never could.
