Blackpaw
Lazy soft buds were unraveling along the tree branches, breaking free of their brittle cocoons into vibrant leaves. The pines were growing emerald again, quivering with the fluttering and scampering of birds and squirrels. The ground was boggy from rain and melted cold. Everywhere there was moss, climbing trees and stones and coating the forest floor like a carpet. Prey was cautious, peering out of their den and nests to check on the newleaf's steady progress.
A whiskery nose poked out of the ground, quivering with smells. Tiny claws scraped the dirt, a pair of shiny black eyes scanned the undergrowth for predator's. In a flash, the vole burst out of its hiding spot, only to turn tail and dive back in. Nothing stirred in the forest. Everything was calm. At peace. Quiet. Slowly this time, the vole came out again, crouching by it's den-mouth. It seemed safe. A bed of fresh grass blades was growing a fox-length away. That couldn't be so dangerous, could it?
Bracing itself for danger, the vole cautiously hurried to the grass sprouts, snuffling over the greenery in hungry excitement. Still on the alert, the tiny creature began to nibble the tips of the sweet, young plants.
Tucked in a tree branch, hiding in the shadows, a kitten watched the prey. She was very small and looked hardly old enough to be out on her own. Her fur was fluffed against a chill breeze that curled around the boughs of oak, claws wedged into the bark. Her ears were cupped forward, listening to the vole below her. Her gaze was intent, barely straying from the round body. Every so often her tail would twitch. She rolled her shoulders. Picked up her haunches. Balanced.
The thrill of the hunt finally caught up to her, exploding throughout her tiny frame like lightening. She yowled with frenzy, plummeting to earth like a rock. The vole had shot off before she'd even landed, not looking back to catch the apprentice knocking her chin on a rock. Un-fazed, she shot up, giving chase, her paws churning rapidly in place before finally propelling her forward. A patch of leaves flew out behind her, tripping her again so she slid into a bramble. Squealing, the she-cat backed out, finally stopping to examine a fore-paw. Panting, she glared at a thorn that had gone up into her pad. She licked the blood away, twitching her whiskers in reaction to the stinging pain.
"Ouch," she hissed, flipping her tail and narrowing her golden eyes.

Blazepaw shouldn't have been wandering outside of camp at all. She couldn't stand being there and everyone trying to take care of her though. Still she didn't know if she would be returning to her apprentice duties anytime soon. She had followed Blackpaw out of Thunder clan, with her broken leg and all, and noisly followed after her Sennett to SE eif her skills where still ok after sitting around for so long. He cuts and bruises were almost gone but her leg still stuck out awkwardly in frog of her in a cast of sorts. Blazepaw watched Blackpaw but mostly followed her by scent so that she wouldn't hear Blazepaw tripping through the forest. She was pretty used to just three legs but not when there were obstacles in her way. Now she watched as Blackpaw concentrated on a vole as it showed itself and then dove back into it's den. Blackpaw was smarter than that though and waited for the right moment to strike. Then she saw her den mate leaped, miss, and end up hurting herself on a rock. Blazepaw was prepared to congratulate her on her csth but now all she could do was hobble from the shadows and say "Are you okay?"

Tealfur had followed after Blazepaw to make sure she was alright peering through hazeled amber pools she spotted the distinct features of Blazepaw's fiery pelt and that of Blackpaw, the birds whistled and chirped their merry little songs as the sunlight dapples the forest floor. The ground was dappled shades of green and black from both the shading and the normal colors, the wind was barely a draft today as the sun was high over head sending heat down their way.
Her whiskers brushed nothing for now as she navigated it well especially since apprentices weren't to be out of camp without a warrior. Grey and navy patterned coat mingled with the fronds of vegitation as her pools watched with amusement at Blackpaw's attempt to catch a vole, she had a fondness for the little black cat. However pools drifted to Blazepaw ''You're not supposed to go far with that injured leg. And go try Blackpaw but you should be in camp too you're not supposed to be out here without a warrior.'' she replied coming out from some bushes approaching the two cats more directly. Her pools scanned the surrounding area ''You never know who's around...'' she went on saying that in cautious suspicious tones.

The undersized apprentice sniffed the blood around her wound, catching a dab of the crimson liquid on her whiskers. Sneezing it away, she tenatively grabbed the thorn between her teeth, tugging lightly. Pain stabbed her all the way up to her shoulder blades. She whimpered softly.
"Are you okay?" Blackpaw gasped, surprised by Blazepaw who had just stumbled out of the bushes. The black cat growled, extending her for leg for the other apprentice to examine.
"Look, there's a thorn in my paw. It hurts so bad." she drew in a breath, her big eyes stretching to their limit. "It could be infected! Blazepaw, you have to take me back to camp, I need a medecine cat!" he raspy mew escalated into a wail.
''You're not supposed to go far with that injured leg. And go try Blackpaw but you should be in camp too you're not supposed to be out here without a warrior.''
"Tealfur!" Blackpaw yelped the warrior's name when she saw her, scampering to her clumsily with her paw held high, bumping her crippled Clanmate as she passed. "I've been wounded!" she shrieked, mighty horror in her voice. "Its going to get infected and my paw will fall off!"

Ooc- we dont have a med cst right now Blazepaw rolled her eyes, Tealfur had been watching her a little to much lately. Since the accident she guessed that everyone had. She hated being stuck in camp though, and good thing cause no one would have been here for Blackpaw then. She Watched Blackpaw as she fretted over her little thorn in her paw. She knew that actually hurt but compared to what Blazepaw did it was nothing. "You'll be fine, I never got an infection from that nasty river water." "oh that's why I came out her TealfuR, I knew that no one is supposed to leave alone now so I followed her and look it was a good thing cause she be crying out her by herself if I hadnt" Blazepaw gave a smirk to the warrior. She had been a little mean to everyone since Swiftpaw almost killed her but was just cause she was so angry she didn't know how to let it out.

[ooc: yes we do, rosestem is the thunderclan med cat (: ]
The sun angled above the leafy forest of ThunderClan, leaking it's warm golden away through the broad leaves that homed multiple types of birds. The dregs of the sunlight played across the clearing, where Nettleclaw balanced his lithe weight upon his haunches, and stepped ever so lightly towards the strong trail of mouse. There was a mouse with fur that mimicked the plumage of a robin underneath the shade of a large oak, pecking upon the ground for pollen. It stayed oblivious as the creamy brown marble tom silently crept in, raising his muscular backlegs, ready to leap... "Ouch," said a gritty voice nearby. The robin took advantage of this, and quickly took flight into the clear cornflower-blue sky.
For a heartbeat, Nettleclaw felt the sudden urge to track down the culprit who wrecked his hunt and tear out their vocal cords, but this boiling sensation quickly turned into light, wispy smoke. The voice seemed to belong to a young cat - a kit or an apprentice. A she-cat, too. The ThunderClan deputy trotted off, pinpointing the location of the soft cry, and heard the voices of other cats rise and mingle with the other soft sounds of the forest. From above him, a songbird trilled romantically. The deep blue eyed tom recognized his fellow Clanmates, Tealfur and Blazepaw, crouched over another indistinguishable cat. 'What's this?" called out the deputy in an authoritative voice. His beryl eyes narrowed as he recognized Blackpaw. The chocolate brown tom felt a sting of pity for the curious apprentice. He knew what it was like to be young and free, with paws that felt like they could run forever and a day. "Er," He started up again, losing his authoritative tone. "I was out showing Blackpaw the lay of the land, and I got distracted by the strong scent of robin. My bad. Let's find Rosestem." But he knew that cats had a certain talent of suddenly popping up.

Rosestem was out and about. After a wonderful sleep she decided to go hunting. Though, she was hopeless at it. Without claws her prey often slipped away. She scented a squirrel and stooped in her tracks. Carefully, she crept up behind it lowered to a hunting crouch and sprung.
"Fox-dung!" she spat as the squirrel slipped from under her paws, " I guess i'll just go back to camp."she sighed and turned. Suddenly, she stooped. She slowly scented the air. What is Blazepaw doing out of camp? she wondered as she caught Blazepaw's scent. Wait.. Nettleclaw's out to? And Blackpaw? And what else is that.. it's hard to tell, wait.. it's blood!! Rosestem jumped up into the air and raced towards the scents.

The orange apprentice nearly jumped when Nettleclaw came into there little huddle around Blackpaw. She may have gotten in trouble wandering out and Tealfur finding her but she didn't know what Nettleclaw was going to tell her about this little outing.
Blazepaw sat next to her den mate knowing that the thorn in her paw and hitting her head must hurt and felt bad for her. "I wi-" Blazepaw cut herself off knowing that Nettleclaw and Tealfur would never allow her to go look for Rosestem herself, especially that Nettleclaw was deputy... she sighed loudly.
Ugh and now the medicine was coming! Blazepaw had seen enough of her in the last few days, no offense to Rosesteam she was a good medicine cat and Thunderclanner but Blazepaw was sick of seeing the same cats and no forest everyday. She wondered what Rosestem would say about her leaving with a still broken leg.

"You'll be fine, I never got an infection from that nasty river water."
Blackpaw flashed her bright gaze on Blazepaw, her orbs burning with hyper emotion. The little ebony apprentice was extremely dramatic at the best of times, doing anything to drag attention to herself. As a result, she was often reluctant to give any in return."Well, of course not!" she mewed with so much indignation. "Water never hurt anyone."
Somewhat composed, Blackpaw returned to her thorn, listening to Blazepaw respond to Tealfur. "oh that's why I came out her TealfuR, I knew that no one is supposed to leave alone now so I followed her" Blackpaw's ears twitched, irritation sparking in her chest. Why was Blazepaw even worried about following her? With her broken leg, she ought to have stayed in camp. "and look it was a good thing cause she be crying out her by herself if I hadn't" Blazepaw finished. Catching her breath, Blackpaw snapped her head up to stab her den mate with a piercing glare. "I'm not crying!" she squeaked angrily. Digging her claws into the earth, the she-cat barely resisted the urge to attack the ginger apprentice, instead staring at her with rage, tail flipping back and forth in wide arcs. Blackpaw never cried! She was tough, even if she was half the size of other six-moon-olds, she was just as clever and fast.
'What's this?" the deputy's voice made Blackpaw jerk her head around, adoration replacing the surly expression on her face. Nettleclaw was fantastic. Big and strong, a loyal ThunderClan warrior. The apprentice wanted to be just like him one day.
"Look, Nettleclaw," she mewed, limping to him. Her voice was soft, but pitched like a kit's when she addressed him. "I got this in my paw when I was hunting, and now it won't come out. I was chasing a vole." she blinked, whiskers twitching forward with an excited purr. "It was huge, you should've seen it! I was so close. I jumped on it from the tree!"

[/img] Rosestem had just gotten to where the three cat's stood. "Blazepaw, how many times have I told you? Don't leave the camp"! she screeched as she saw Blazepaw, " And Nettleclaw, why did you let her?" She trotted over to get a good look at Blazepaw, "Are you hurt? she asked her then turned to look at Black paw, his foot was bleeding. "So you go a thorn in your pad?" she asked Blackpaw, Here, hold still and I'll take it out." She grasped his paw and bit the thorn with her teeth. Then, Rosestem pulled. Attachments:

Her Hazelized amber fell onto the Blackpaw as he spoke ''Tealfur!" "I've been wounded!" "Its going to get infected and my paw will fall off!" she sighed deeply looking at the cat ''Don't worry do much.'' she replied then her gaze drifted to Blazepaw as she replied ''"oh that's why I came out her TealfuR, I knew that no one is supposed to leave alone now so I followed her and look it was a good thing cause she be crying out her by herself if I hadnt" she rolled her pools ''Nettleclaw was with her Blazepaw.'' she flattened her auds to the sides. Her gaze now was on Nettleclaw "Er," he seemed like he was ready to studder "I was out showing Blackpaw the lay of the land, and I got distracted by the strong scent of robin. My bad. Let's find Rosestem." Her pools narrowed slightly ''You should be more careful you silly tom, Thunderstar doesn't want apprentices out alone anymore and especially not injured apprentices.'' she cracked a smile ending her facade of appearing authoritive or angry. Her dial returned to the two apprentices "I'm not crying!" seemed like Blackpaw was getting annoyed she dipped her head to Nettleclaw. Eyeing the tom cat mildly not appearing to have any abnormal interest for him.

Nettleclaw did not reply to any of his Clanmates, whether they were friendly or hostile. It was only natural for them to be worried of an apprentice who wounded herself... by accidentally stepping upon a thorn. "The first thorn is the worst. Now be brave and don't wince!" started the creamy and chocolate brown tom with a benign expression. The ThunderClan deputy knew he was a rolemodle for the apprentice - and he would be the best rolemodel too. His royal blue eyes narrowed as Rosestem swiftly pulled the foreign object from the apprentice's paw. He saw several drops of scarlet drop fall to the ground, and felt a tiny shiver press down his spine. The blood reminded him of how they would need to fight against VenomClan soon. What if he died during the battle? What if his whole Clan perished? ThunderClan was strong and swift, but VenomClanners seemed fiercer still. He was snapped back into the present time when a robin fluttered noiseily ahead of the group of cats. "I got this in my paw when I was hunting, and now it won't come out. I was chasing a vole." It was obvious that Blackpaw wanted praise, with her whiskers quivering and her eyes bright. "It was huge, you should've seen it! I was so close. I jumped on it from the tree!" "Good job, Blackpaw!" The creamy brown tom responded with ringing approval in his voice. "You'll be the best hunter in the Clan if you keep up your work!"

Blazepaw didn;t even flinch under Rosestem's accusations since she had heard them a few times already. It amused her that Rosesteam put the blame onto Nettleclaw. " I'm fine. She's the one that's hurt this time." Blazepaw gave a small smirk on the side of her face away from Nettleclaw. She really hoped that Blackpaw would be perfectly fine.

Rosestem nodded. Then she saw Blazepaw's smirk. "I'm still blaming you for sneaking out of camp as well Blazepaw. Now, I got the thorn from Blackpaw's paw, but I need to bring him back to camp to put some herbs on it. You wil come with me and help." she mewed sternly, her temper rising so much that she laughed a laugh of rage. Don't they EVER learn? she wondered as she started back for camp. She sighed and glared at Blazepaw. Sometimes she wished she could be a warrior.

Nettleclaw rested his tail on the slightly injured apprentice, the features of his face confused as Rosestem hurried away for poultice herbs. There seemed to be more behind her slightly frustrated voice, other than the exasperation for hyperactive apprentices who enjoyed venturing out of camp. A hawk snatching away one or two of them should teach them a lesson, thought Nettleclaw amusedly. He had a twisted, almost vulgar sense of humor. "Let's save Rosestem a doubleback trip, and walk to camp." the creamy brown tom stated calmly, turning his green gaze upon the little group of cats. Then he added to Blackpaw, "Can you walk? Your pads are probably a little sore."
