(Yay!! First roleplay post on tha site!!!)
The forest was silent, the trees were still, and everything seemed normal. A small jay rested on a stone just under a patch of light that leaked through the trees, oblivious to the two small amber eyes staring at it from behind the cover of a bush. This shouldn't be too hard... I've seen Keith do it plenty of times... the young goldish colored cat thought. He slowly padded out of the bush as the jay turned it's head away from him, his claws unsheathed. Suddenly the jay cawed and flew away, right before the young cat could strike, "That's the fifth bird this week that's flown away on me!" the cat pouted. A gust of wind brought a faint and strange scent towards the young cat, "What the... it smells like cat... and prey!" he then followed the scent.
(I've been practicing my writing skills over the past day.)

The scent followed to Nettleclaw and Gazelleleap, who were both investigating a sandy hollow, debating whether snakes were living in there. Of course, only Nettleclaw spoke, but Gazelleleap shook her head in his argument. "I'm sure snakes live in the sand." he mumbled. Gazelleleap shook her head again. It was obvious she thought of her twin brother as a mousebrain with the way she rolled her gauzy green eyes. They knew each other so well they carried telepathic conversations with ease and accuracy.
The sandy she-cat dipped her head as the apprentice neared, hearing the braken rustle as he pushed through. The marbled tabby tom trotted indifferently towards the young tom, hoping that Goldenpaw had heard that he was losing an argument against his own muted sister. "Is there something the matter?" the dark cream-and-brown inquired his apprentice.

"I can't hunt..." Goldenpaw growled as he looked at NettleClaw, his mentor. He wasn't very familiar with the hunting techniques of the clan, but he knew very well the code of the clans, "Sorry I was out without a warrior, I got a little preoccupied with hunting." He then glanced over at Gazelleleap, something about her was just weird. How could a cat be mute? Did she truly know what the warrior code was? She had never said she knew, at least, not in front of Goldenpaw. He didn't trust her. "Will I be punished for leaving the camp without a warrior by my side?" Goldenpaw asked.
(Wait... they already know him?)

Nettleclaw frowned slightly as his apprentice told his tale. The dark cream and brown tom nearly replied, I expected better from my own apprentice!, but stopped himself as he quickly realized that he hadn't even spent time with the young tom as of yet. His indignation quickly fused into suspicion. Does he think I'm a bad mentor because I haven't taught him any lessons yet? I'd claw him if he thought I was a stupid mentor! Or if he's laughing at me behind my back! With calmness as though he had not thought of clawing his own apprentice, Nettleclaw started, "Well, then, I guess there's nothing else to do but start our first hunting session." As though on call, a bird trilled loudly above the platform of leafy trees. The ThunderClan warrior took a step forward the direction of singing birds, just a little east. "Do you want to go now?"
Gazelleleap's tan ear flicked at the sound of a mouse scuffing in the undergrowth, and chased after it silently without saying goodbye to the two toms.
"Bye." Nettleclaw said, although it was useless and his sister was probably halfway through the forest in search of the noisy mouse.

Goldenpaw stared at his mentor as he gave a mild frown to the apprentice. He always figured there was something a bit weird with Nettleclaw, but then again, all cats seemed to hide secrets. "So... how do I hunt? Is there a certain way that I have to hunt according to the code? I can't ever break the warrior code." Goldepaw asked. He stared blankly at his mentor, like he was expecting something like an award for being so considerate of the warrior code, anyone who disagreed with that would be better off dead. "I've tried sneaking up on the prey, but that somehow doesn't work with me, even though I hear that's what everyone's doing these days." Goldenpaw meowed.
(Please don't think that Goldenpaw is one of those mary-stooge characters for being so law-abiding, he's very strict and will be even more strict once he has the power of a warrior.)

"Well...I think you gotta thank StarClan for it's life when you kill your prey. I don't." Nettleclaw shrugged, indifferent to his apprentice's loyalty to the warrior code. "You need more practice. How did you even eat before you joined us?" With differences aside, Nettleclaw pushed his way through the bracken and raised his nose to sniff the air. There was a faint trace of mouse. He dropped himself low on the ground, and stole forward several fox-lengths. His breathing was gentle and Nettleclaw took care to not let his hot breath rise into smoke above him. The tom swiped his tongue over his lips absentmindedly, eager for the taste of blood to cascade into his jaws. The forest was so quiet that the silence seemed to press the creamy brown tom down, and Nettleclaw also took care in being quieter than the forest itself. Ahead was the stronger scent of mouse, and the near inaudiable sound of a scuffing mouse. His dark blue eyes seemed to crackle with lightning, his instincts carrying swiftly forward until he found his paws directly under a struggling mouse. With a quick, deadly snap, the mouse ceased to cry. "Like that." the mentor breathed, trotting back to his apprentice. "Uh, stay downwind and be quiet. Prey is getting harder to find."

Bluepaw walked in and saw Nettleclaw and Goldenpaw hunting. That looks fun! I should help them hunt too and be useful!" "Hello! How are you two doing? Can I hunt with y--" he yowled loudly stopping before finish sentence. Then he realized that he should have been more quiet. Sure enough, he heard scurrying in all directions. Oh no. I scared all the prey away.

Could you try not to bring back dead topics, please? This topic was made in November. You're not in trouble, all new users do it, just try not to do it again. :3

A dead topic is a topic, a thread, a post, or whatever you want to call these thingys that has not been posted in for like a while. I'm not sure how long, I think maybe two weeks or something. It should be in the General Rules thread.
