Nightshade was excited. he finally had an apprentice! He didn't even care that his apprentice hated him, he was to excited. "Now, Eclipsepaw watch me closely.." he told his apprentice. Then, he lowered his belly to the ground and hid behind a long tuft of grass. he scented the air and smelt a rabbit. Nightshade crept forward slightly and waited for the rabbit to be occupied... then he sprung, biting the rabbit's neck and cracking it's spine with one swift blow. Attachments:

Quailfoot was a considerable distance away, following a strong scent. Not the scent of prey. She was following the scent of a fox! Yes, a wild russet fox with sharp teethy jaws and big fat claws. What was life without a handful of dangerous fights and a considerable amount of adrenaline? However, as the greyish-brown spotted tabby followed the trail, she saw that it finally left off at ThunderClan territory. "Drat." The adventurous queen hissed, before adding on a choicer swear word. She scrapped at the ground for a moment, as though expecting the hard dirt beneath her paws to challenge her to a heart-pumping fight, before the soft voices of her fellow Clanmates drifted into her ears. "Now, Eclipsepaw watch me closely.." Quailfoot silently drifted towards the location of the voice. She saw that it belonged to Nightshade. The brownish queen narrowed her honey-brown eyes as the tom leapt and killed the rabbit, before the struggle was ended with a crunch of bone. "That was good!" The she-cat grinned, popping out of the heavily fragranced bushes she had been hiding in.

Nightshade jumped at the female's approach. He glared at her unkindly. "Are you in need of any services from me as deputy? If not leave now Quailfoot my apprentice is in need of training." he turned away and looked back at his apprentice. "Do you have any questions? Ok, then it's your turn now." Grinning he looked at his apprentice, judging him from different angles.

Quailfoot huffed, her thick fur puffing up in irritation. "Well," The brownish-gray queen replied spitefully, "Your aim was weak, your steps were very noisy and your killing tactic was insignificant anyway! You wasted a lot of energy for that one scrawny, tick-ridden piece of carrion anyway too!" Although, none of this was true. Nightshade was a strong hunter as well as a fighter, but Quailfoot needed something to do anyway. Her dare-devil attitude was pushing her on. "Go on training, your apprentice will easily be outstripped by insect-eating voles in terms of catching prey!" Maybe a fight would break out from this, and the she-cat felt her paws tingle with excitement. She did not move a muscle, but rather waited for the Deputy's response.

((Sorry about the folllowing roleplay, this is how Nightshade would act.)) "YOU PIECE OF FOX-DUNG! HOW DARE YOU INSULT ME! I'LL TEACH YOU A LESSON YOU'LL NEVERFORGET!" Nightshade yowled. He tensed his muscles and pounced on top of Quailfoot. He landed on top of her, and pinned her down to the ground by digging his claws into the earth around her. Hissing, he brought his teeth close to her throat, but didn't bite down. "You will NEVER insult me again. GOT IT?" he hissed at Quailfoot, spitting in her face.

Eclipsepaw watched his mentor with great interest. Nightshade was a great teacher. he had almost forgotten that he hated him for being deputy. Almost.... When Quailfoot arrived, and his mentor sprung he tensed his muscles and aimed to pinher head to the ground.

This was exactly what Quailfoot was waiting for. The grayish she-cat let the tom pin her down, her spine shivering with adrenaline as he hissed angrily in her face. The she-cat leaped up with all her strength, scored her slightly unsheathed claws across the deputy's face, before running away and screaming loudly, "TRAITOR! TRAITOR IN THE CLAN! THE DEPUTY TRIED TO KILL ME! TRAITOR! HE MUST BE WORKING FOR VENOMCLAN! VENOMCLAN!" The WindClan she-cat giggled uncontrollably, soon entering camp, searching for Windstar. "Hey, everybody! Nightshade is a spy for VenomClan!"
(all offenses roleplayed XD Gotta keep in character.)

Nightshade roared at Quailfoot. "I did not you piece of mouse-dung! Those words were, empty. They had no meaning. I only said them so you would stop INSULTING ME SO HARSHLY!!" he yowled the last words as loud as he could, making it so all cats could hear. "Now if YOU DON'T MIND, I am going to train wityh Exclipsepaw now. he needs to work on his skills. Do not insult me again Quailfoot." he hissed. And with that, the proud black tom stalked away.

"Don't listen to him." said Quailfoot in fake sobs. She stumbled towards Windstar's den. Continuing with heaves and gasps, "He tried to kill me! Ask his apprentice! See how the fur around my neck is disrupted?" Her green eyes widened with innocence.

Eclipsepaw gasped. It could be so easy to get rid of his mentor... but, he was an honest cat. he knew that Nightshade would never really hurt her... just scare her. "He never TRIED TO KILL YOU! Like he said, the words were empty. You insulted your deputy harshly and he simply tried to scare you." he fluffed his fur. "You never would have insulted our deputy if my mother, Morningeyes was still deputy, instead of being dead. The apprentice wailed, and looked to the ground he knew the words to be true, but they rangin his ears.Mother, Morningeyes, dead. Eclipsepaw's eyes stung, he scarcely remembered his mother, the happy memories just seemed to fade away the more he thought of them, the tom lay on the grass, remembering, but still waiting for Quailfoot's response.

"But - I... oh." Quailfoot muttered, now feeling terribly guilty for provoking old painful memories. She added quickly with a stronger tone of voice, "I didn't mean to make you remember Morningeyes. You gotta let stuff go, kid." Quailfoot was not a sympathetic cat. She would let rabbits squirm and flail with fear before she gave a painfully lengthy killing bite. She added, rolling her eyes towards Nightshade, "Especially with a mentor who attacks everybody for the smallest things. All I said was that his aim was weak, that's all. The guts in that cat..."
