Eclipsekit was tired of waiting. He had JUST turned six moons. It was his turn to become an apprentice.

Nightshade sighed as well. He was really bored. Being a deputy was a lot of work, but he just wanted to spend time with Starstorm.

Windstar leaped up the High-Stump. Winstar looked around. She spotted Eclipsekit. He was ready for his ceremony. ''All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a Clan meeting!'' Windstar waited for a bit before picking up.
''Today is a very special day. It is time for WindClan's next apprentice to be named!
Step up please, Eclipsekit.'' She watched the kit from the Stump. This was a very happy moment. Finally. Joy ran through her.
''Eclipsekit, from this moment on, you will be known as Eclipsepaw. Nightshade, my deputy, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have shown bravery and cleverness. Do all that you can to strengthen Eclipsepaw into a warrior as wonderful as yourself.''
Nightshade, being a new, young deputy, needed an apprentice. He needed the practice and the experience. This would strengthen Nightshade as well as his apprentice.
Windstar leaped down and touched noses with Eclipsepaw. ''Congratulations, apprentice,'' she whispered.

Nightshade was in shock. He stepped forward to touch noses with his apprentice. "But he doesn't like me!" he thought bitterly. Quickly he shook it off. "I am glad to have you as my apprentice Eclipsepaw." he said to his apprentice.

Eclipsepaw almost spat in his mentors face. He reluctantly touched noses with Windstar and Nightshade and sat on his haunches. "Can we go on a patrol?" he asked.
