"No, I will not." Swanfeather said comfortingly, giving her new apprentice a lick on the head. Then she graceful she-cat added briskly, still ignoring the other firey RiverClan she-cat, "Let's leave camp and begin some battle training." With her last words, the pure white she-cat stood up swiftly and exited through the reedy tunnel, into the riverground.
Now outside of camp, the pretty RiverClan she-cat huffed. "How dare Lilypad be so obnoxious! It was all Riverstar's decision, and Riverstar's word is law." she closed her deep amber eyes. "He did what was right for the Clan." Re-opening her bright peepers, she scanned about to see if her new apprentice, Hawkpaw, had followed after her.

Hawkpaw had been following his mentor the whole time, and had heard everything that she had just said. "Why is Lilypad so obnoxious?"

"Nobody knows quite why," Swanfeather stated wisely, her amber eyes fixed on her little apprentice. "I suppose it was something that happened in her youth. Tragic thing..." The snow-white warrior continued to pad across the rivergrounds, before reaching a spot with firmer ground (which would make it easier for battle training). "Because us RiverClanners swim through the rapid currents often, our muscles are stronger and more developed. However, our neverending supply of fish that runs through our creeks gives us a little too much luxury, and so we lose speed because of our full diet. That's why we need to practice sprinting more often." That was said very quickly, as though Swanfeather had recited the entire thing perfectly. "There's no real way of teaching battle training by mouth, we can only practice and you have to remember my moves. Claws sheathed, and you can take the first move!"

Lilypad leaded a patrol across the open ground, looking at the sunning rocks where VenomClan lived. She flinched and moved forward.

Hawkpaw nodded, and reached out to cuff his mentor over the ears. "Like that?"
