Leafbare was a harsh time for all the Clans, but Summitrise felt as though SkyClan had it the worse.
The birds that usually stayed in the trees had mirgrated, no there was no point in getting tired by jumping up the trees. Also, animals were hibernating under the ground. Was there a way to dig them out?
Fusterated and hungry, Summitrise lumbered around SkyClan's territory. He almost hoped a nice rabbit would just randomly come up to the red tom.

Skystar brushed through the undergrowth quietly, pausing when he heard muffled pawsteps. Mistaking them for a rabbit's, the SkyClan founder sleathily loped towards the noise. "Oh, it's just you." he said, once he caught site of Summitrise. "Anyway, how are you?"

"I'm good, you?" asked Summitrise relieved of his stressful hunting.
A tortishell she-cat with dark green eyes appeared from the thick clumps of grass. "Hello." she said without any trace of shyness. "Can I join this hunting patrol?"

"Hi!" yelled out Pearlfur, who was quickly emerging from a fallow in the brushy wood-moors. The she-cat was a small white cat with blue eyes that shined with curiosity. Finally she reached the group of three cats, panting slightly from fatigue. "A patrol? Can I come too?"
