Hunting in VenomClan with Violet. (OPEN)

[Spottedleaf]

A dark shadow loomed over Snakerocks. Below the dark clouds a siamese cat with striking blue eyes hunting adders stood completely still, and could easily be mistaken for a shadow. Then, the sun sliced through the clouds as if it had claws. Violetbird made no change in her movement. Suddenly, a crow landed in front of her and she sprung, killing it with a swift blow delivered to it's spine. Gingerly, she picked up the dead bird in her jaws and buried it in the soft dirt in front of her. "I hope Dusk... my mate, my love will be impressed... " she mewed and then trailed off into silence. Snap... she turned as a branch broke just behind her, she hissed and whirled around.

Dusk had crept up on his love and he jumped back as she hissed and almost clawed his face off. "Violetbird... Love... don't worry, it's only me. I was coming to show you this..." he flicked his tail towards a largeraven lying on the ground behind him.

When Violet didn't respond he continued , " Anyway...... I just wanted to say hi and... that I love you.." he grinned crookedly.

Violetbird almost sang with joy, but she quickly watered down that emotion. "Dusk, my love! you shocked me... I didn't know you followed me.... want to show you something... I caught it myself!" she fought the urge to purr and dug out the crow she had caught only a minute ago. "I wanted to suprise you.... but I guess that's not going to happen..." she trailed into silence and she stared into his eyes.

Dusk was awre that his mate felt pride because of this catch and he dipped his head as she stared at his amber eyes. ' A very impressive catch, Violetbird. I couldn't have done better myself." he told his mate firmly, and grinned as her eyes shone with pride. Lovingly, he put his tail on her back, and ran it along her spine. Then, he started to purr, and licked the top of Violetbird's head. Content, for the SECOND time in his long, malicious life. Suddenly, a memory appeared in his head. A memory of contentment.

In his head he saw his first mate. Brightshadow. She had just had their kits. Nestling close to her belly were three kits. One white, named Snowkit, one gray, called Smokekit, and one black, named Nightkit. Another memory now. When the kits, had first opened their eyes. Snowkit with her blue, sightless eyes, Smokekit and his bight amber eyes like Dusk's own. Finally, Nightkit, with large green eyes, focused, and large, like and owl, though the bright green colour matched Brightshadow's. Then, sadness over took him. Two of his kits. Snowkit, and Smokekit lay dead. They had bite marks in their necks, But, the worst sight of all was Brightshadow, laying completely still. Her eyes, focused on the night sky. A voice came from her throat. I see, StarClan. I'm going to StarClan. Her eyes turned toward her mate and a tear fell from one. I see,,,, StarClan. and with that her eyes turned grey and there was no life in her. Dusk wept. A small black head poked out from under some bushes. Daddy? Where's Mommy? Nightkit asked her grieving father. Taken by suprise, he looked at his only surviving kit, and saw her mother's eyes stare back. She's dead. Brightshadow is in StarClan niow." he had told his kit. After that, he became obsessed with finding Brightshadow's killer. When he did, he killed him. His personality had changed for ever. Dusk thought he would never find love again. He became cold-hearted and bloodthirsty. But, then he found Violetbird. Dusk, had found a new love. And, all his grief had finally washed away.

"I love you more than words can show Violet." he murmered to his mate. "More than words can show."
