Faint mewling broke out from the heart of the VenomClan camp, shattering the previous silence like broken ice. The soft crying turned into screeching, before they subsided into happy gurgling. Inside one of the cold stone lodgements of the Snakerocks, VenomClan's camp, Songbird had given birth. She was a pale brown she-cat, nearly white, with long thick fur and vibrantly emerald eyes who had betrayed ShadowClan for VenomClan previous moons ago. Songbird would have been very pretty, if battle scars didn't streak across her pelt and the lack of nutritious prey provided in VenomClan didn't wipe away the visages of youth on her face.
Kestrelstorm was nothing more than a shadowy recollection. Being a newer queen, Songbird wasn't quite sure of what to do. She sniffed them curiously, feeling a soft glowy feeling grow from inside her stomach. Four little kittens were curled up beside the pale brown queen, two she-cats and two toms. They would soon have to prove their spot in the vicious VenomClan.

Venomstar grumbled as he trotted to the nursery. He glowered at Songbird and his face brightened as he looked at the new recruits.

Dusk heard sounds coming from the nursery. "Songbird must have had her kit's..... I wonder what she'll name them... hopefully not something wimpy like her name. he thought as he ate a adder that he had caught earlier.

Venomstar growled and stepped out of the nursery. Songbird would probably give them warrior names. They would be a disgrace!
He lifted his head and salw Dusk. Venomstar shrugged and grabbed a large bird, dragging it to where Dusk sat.
"If you find this retarded I'll leave, but Dusk, do you believe Songbird would give her kits warrior names? I do not like that one bit. Its unsettling."

Dusk was suprised that Venomstar would talk to him but he showed no sign of it. "I think she will name them warrior names. Her mate was one of ShadowClan and she may not even realize it but she will give them names with kit at the end because of all the happy memories she had in ShadowClan and because of her old mate. In short... I think she will give them names with kit at the end. But, it is not all bad... you get to give them the end part of their names... just as you will do when my kit.. Nightpaw joins... though it would be better when she joins if she chooses a new name... without becoming a warrior." He glanced at Venomstar to see his reaction. "I do not like my daughter's name... NightPAW.. I gave her the name Night... and her mother gave her kit, and now Shadowstar gave her paw.. I fear that will mean Night will not let me kill Shadowstar because of some.. connection she feels they have.". Dusk sighed and took a bite of the adder he had almost forgotten.

The toms were speaking just loud enough for the pale brown queen to overhear. Sadly, Kestrelstorm was nothing than a shadowy memory to her now, but Songbird knew that her kits would have a brighter future with warrior names.
In fact, Venomstar himself had a Clan name. The VenomClan queen laid her head over her tiny, squirming kits. Right now, they resembled something like pinkish hairless mice, but in a few days they would grow fur and develop individual personalities.

Venomstar growled, unsettled by the thought of having Venom-born kits have warrior names.
He nodded and bit hard into his large bird. He lay with his head low.

 Dusk glanced into the nursery and saw Songbird's change of position. She must of overheard us.... he thought, suprised. He sighed, and took a bite of the adder in his paws. Looking around him he saw the clan waking up and he took a couple more bites of the adder. When he was done, he spoke to Venomstar again. "Remember Venomstar.. you do get to give them the end part of their names..." Dusk stretched his back and sautered off into the forest. |

(Just for fun, what do you guys think of taking your ShadowClan characters and making them raid VenomClan to take the kits back?)
There was a very long time before any cat said another thing. There was only the distant slithering of adders that lived below the lodges of the Snakerocks. It was a soothing sound, that allowed Songbird to concentrate on suitable names.
"Venomstar," Songbird said softly in her musical voice that could make hummingbirds stop mid-air, breaking the ringing silence. She craned her head towards his den, unsure of where he really was. "Their names are Chasmkit, Branchkit, Hailkit and Olivekit."

 Dusk sat down as soon as he entered the forest. When he spotted a snake he pounced and killed it. Then, he entered camp again, and walked over to the small fresh kill pile, and placed the adder on top. When he heard Songbird tell Venomstar the kits names he froze. Dusk knew Venomstar would be angry, and he might take it out on him. Slowly he made his way towards Venomstar and sat down beside him again, careful not to touch his pelt. |

Venomstar growled at Songbird and glared at the kits. His claws raked the ground as his temper was hard to control. He lashed at the ground, making a deep mark where he had just stood before. Venomstar angerly went out of camp and raked his claws across any thing living. He was angered by how Songbird was disgracing his clan by the clan names. He thought hard.
Chasmdeath, Branchsmoke, Hailfury, and Olivecry.
No. Olivecry was horrible. Something....
Venomstar wanted good, terrible names.

Dusk showed no emotion as his leader lashed at the ground. Trouble thinking of perfect names.... well let's see.. Chasmkit to Chasmfury, Branchkit to Branchbreak, Hailkit to Hailstorm, and Olivekit to.... um... let's think. Got it! Olivekit to Oliveclaw. Perfect.... he thought happily. Turning towards his leader he murmered suggestions. I have ideas for their names. Chasmfury,Branchbreak,Hailstorm, and Oliveclaw. Those are good names... at least i think they are Venomstar. But, I'm sure you have better names." he whispered to his leader non-chalantly.
The black tom supressed a grin and snagged a crow from the fresh-prey pile, to bring to his mate, Violetbird. His off-amber eyes glinted in the faint sunlight and his black coat was in distingusable from the dark trees as he entered the forest.

Venomstar hissed at Dusk and stiked him, his temper getting the better of him. When he was a kit, he could never control it. He could control for very little moments only.

Songbird watched as the silvery tom left the VenomClan camp in a fury, with a little bit of a smile on her face. The pale brown she-cat knew that the tom would not attack a nursing queen. If, though, Songbird had not recently had a gaggle of kits, she knew that Venomstar would have quickly clawed her stomach open.
"It's a sad, sad world." The emerald-eyed she-cat purred, almost cheerfully.
(Do you guys want the ShadowClan invasion now?)
