General Roleplay Rules

Being that this is a roleplay site, there are a couple rules that apply to roleplaying:

No Mary-Sues: Not everyone is perfect, add a few flaws to your character to make him/her more realistic. If you do not obey this rule while you wait for your character to be approved (see approval rules) your character will not be approved.
With realistic personalities, your cat must also have realistic appearances. We know that not everyone knows all the laws of feline genetics, but we request that you not create a character with a purple pelt with flower-shaped patterns.

No God-modding/Powerplaying: You can't come out of every fight unharmed. Be realistic during battles and fights and let people hurt you.

No border-crossing: No ThunderClan cats in RiverClan territory. This rule can only be broken under special circumstances.

Six characters only: You may only have six living characters (dead characters don't count). To apply for a new character you may go to the 'Biography drafts' board and fill out a biography.

Have real names: These are feral cats, not people, please only include names with two prefixes like in the book (examples: Nightsong, Kestrelstorm, etc.). Do not include prefixes like Sakura, Dragon, Kitchen, Bieber, etc. I think you all get the idea.

The only exception is certain VenomClan cats. More about this is in the bio drafts section.

No chatspeak: warrior cats don't lol or lmao.

You may capture prisoners: but they may be freed when they want to be.

Things that require administrative approval:

* Death (this includes murdering)
* Border crossing
* Plots (see the 'Approval center' board)
* Inter-clan relationships.
* Kits
* Rank advancement (apprentice --> warrior, etc.)
* New characters
* Injuries and disabilities

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE BOOKS & SITE

This site has several major differences from the books. Such as the fact this site takes roughly 90 years back from the original series, during the time the Clans and the warrior code were still developing.

There is no twolegs, thunderpath, or kittypets. Outsider cats will only be loners or rouges who didn't chose to join the Clans.

Since this site takes place at the very beginning of the Clans, SkyClan lives in the forest, as explained in Firestar's Quest. SkyClan roughly doesn't get driven away 20 years before the original series.
Also mentioned in Firestar's Quest is that ShadowClan cats were GOOD before SkyClan had been driven out. So ShadowClan isn't your cat's enemy like in the cannon series - VenomClan is.

What is VenomClan? A Clan so dark that even StarClan cats don't dare mention. VenomClan is just a band of rouges who celebrate the Dark Forest and joined the five other Clans without approval from StarClan. VenomClan is composed of the cats who didn't originally join the five other Clans, or cats brought in by the Biologist (explaining why some have human names.)
They thrive in the area of the Snakerocks and a part of modern ShadowClan's marshes, eating the non-poisionous snakes and drinking the murky water in between the ruts of boulders.
All cats in that Clan follow the Dark Forest.

ROLEPLAY GUIDELINES

Liquid Time;

You may participate in as many roleplay threads as you wish, no matter what day the thread had started in.

Aging;

Your cat will age throughout roleplay, two normal months in RL time will equal 1 TFP month.

Roleplaying Length;

Rule of thumb is 3 sentences, not including dialogue. But we ask that you mimic your roleplaying partner's post length, meaning if they type out a 200 word post, you should type a 200 word post back.

Brevity;

Zzzzz.... Oh sorry, your entire post of your cat's surroundings is boring! Really, it is. Nobody wants to read wine-bottle description fluff. Get your point across, while making enough for people to reply to. Did your cat just blink and wave its tail again for the umpteenth time in your post?

Point of View;

Any point of view is accepted, as long as you stay literate include your character's thoughts and feelings.

The Warrior Code
Note that VenomClan cats do not follow the warrior code.

Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan.

Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.

Elders, Queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.

Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.

The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.

After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.

Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.

No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.

The word of the Clan leader is law.

An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.


Exceptions
Cats on their way to the Moonpool are allowed to cross other Clans' territories to get to their destination.

The Medicine Cat Code

Medicine cats may not have a mate or kits.

Medicine cats must keep peace between Clans.
